Megan brings over 2 decades of consulting, instructional design, and project management experience to the team. Not only does Megan facilitate our LLAMA® and instructional design workshops, but she also supports our clients with project kickoffs to make sure each project has clear direction. She is devoted to delivering outstanding work to our clients and creating a top-notch work environment based on trust, flexibility, compassion, and fun.

Megan gardens, hikes, and plays ice hockey in her spare time.

Bio

Carla has 20 years of instructional design and strategy experience, helping organizations to deliver performance solutions that consider both the learner’s needs and meet business objectives. Carla is also a recognized thought leader in the areas of elearning, mobile learning, and microlearning, and has published Designing Microlearning with ATD Press.

Carla enjoys downhill skiing, biking, and camping. She currently lives in North Carolina with her awesome husband, Tom, and their very curious son, John. She loves to travel with her family, and they have explored the United States from coast to coast.

As our Chief Operating Officer (COO), Steve brings his leadership experience to keep our office operations, staffing, and billing running smoothly. He leverages his marketing experience with Zingerman’s, Borders Book Group, and University of Michigan, to lead the team creatively in the design of client materials.

Steve lives an active lifestyle as an avid bicyclist, ice skater, and father of four fabulous kids.

Jessica brings to this work over a decade of experience in supporting diversity, equity, inclusion, belonging in both corporate and higher education contexts. She has been recognized at the international level for her advocacy and strategic program development. Jess is the author of TorranceLearning's CREW (Cultivating Racial Equity in the Workplace) curriculum.

Bio

Michelle brings her experience with graphic design and course development to all her projects as one of our client experience specialists. With a fine arts and print media background she brings her experience to set course standards and templates to enforce consistency over the course of a project.

Michelle and her son operate a custom food business, Julen’s Ausome Sauce, to build skills and develop awareness of autism.

Bio

Matt brings his expertise in accounts receivable and accounts payable to coordinate our client billing and supplier payments. He brings over a decade of experience and supports the TL team with many other internal financial and accounting functions. Matt also takes time away from TorranceLearning to serve as a drilling reservist in the Michigan Army National Guard.

Matt enjoys playing an intriguing assortment of pretend games, like knights and dragons, with two rambunctious boys.

Jami has a passion for learning and for helping others to aspire to greater things. Jami is focused on providing supportive and sustainable resources at TorranceLearning to ensure smooth, efficient, and effective processes in the day-to-day work experience, and to foster a productive, creative climate where everyone can excel and shine.

Outside of work, Jami loves to travel, meet new people, and learn other languages. Her hobbies also include graphic design, illustration, and copy editing. She is an avid knitter and enjoys spending time with people who sparkle.

As our Learning Experience Development Team Lead, Leanne brings her instructional design and development experience to create meaningful learning solutions for our clients. She’s a formidable wordsmith with a strong background in written, technical, and visual communication.

Outside of work, you may find Leanne at a concert, buying shoes she doesn’t need, or catering to the demands of her diva bunny, Beans.

Matt’s days are spent coding unique learning solutions for clients, building really functional user interfaces for 3rd party learning systems, and consulting on data structures and platforms for clients. Matt’s experience with xAPI makes him invaluable to our clients.

Matt’s background in elearning development, computer graphics, 3-D animation, and film-making give him unique insight to the needs of learning developers.

Linda leverages her human resource experience to design and deliver training for our clients as one of our project managers. With a background in needs analysis and training delivery she brings her experience into the design of learning solutions that meet client needs while engaging the learner.

Linda loves the sun and sand, lives on a lake, and spends vacation time on a beach.

Anthony brings more than 15 years of instructional design and program management experience to TL. He has a passion for building relationships and enjoys sharing his experience to lead and support our Learning Experience Design team. Anthony’s focus is to help clients improve performance – by designing engaging and effective learning experiences for their teams.

When not working, Anthony enjoys attending live music events, collecting and listening to vinyl, and spending time with his husband and their dogs, Tolliver and Ronan.

Rachel wears many hats! She’s a member of our learning experience development team. She loves being able to use her creativity to bring engaging learning content to life.

In her spare time, Rachel enjoys spending time with family and friends, and catching up on the latest true crime podcasts and documentaries.

Marijn has a master’s degree in Industrial /Organizational Behavior Management from Western Michigan University. He is enthusiastically applying all of that great academic knowledge to developing learning experiences for our clients.

He pronounces his name (ma-Ryan or ma-Rhine) Meijer (MY-er) and, in his free time, Marijn competes in trading card game tournaments and can be found exploring nature one way or another.

Dean manages to blend his career in music production with skills in software testing and cloud computing here at TorranceLearning. He manages video production projects, supports our LMS, and provides internal IT support.

Dean volunteers with the Chelsea Marching Band and enjoys watching his son compete in the Special Olympics.

Bio

Zari brings her experience in media and communication to create learning experiences for our clients as one of our instructional developers. With a background in publishing and journalism she brings her analytical eye to ensure we develop learning that is creative while still clearly communicating key points to learners.

Zari has written two children’s books and directed two award winning short films and a documentary. She’s translated seven children’s books from English to Turkish and coordinated the publishing of over a hundred books.

Molly is one of our instructional designers with a background in teaching English as a second language. Her experience developing and leading classroom learning helps her approach her work here at TorranceLearning from a learner’s perspective.

When she’s not at work, you might find her cooking, playing table-top games, reading, or walking her dog, Django.

Bio

Lisa has over two decades of experience working in city government and the school district prior to joining the TorranceLearning team. She brings a passion for organization, communication, and financial skills to her role in supporting our team’s growth, as well as strengthening the community.

Outside of TL, Lisa spends time creating with pottery and fused glass. She enjoys supporting the Special Olympics, volunteering with the area’s art communities, and serving as an election worker.

Jen Hoeke, M.F.A.

Bio

Jen brings over two decades of experience designing and building creative digital learning solutions that help companies achieve their goals. She puts her UX skills to work solving problems and engaging learners. Most importantly she loves what she does, and it comes through in her work and in her relationships with clients.

When not at the computer Jen enjoys the great outdoors, whether traveling the country in the RV, portaging a canoe through the Boundary Waters wilderness, or kayaking on one of the many lakes near her home in Minneapolis, she is always up for a new adventure.

Liz Barron

Bio

Liz brings over 10 years of continuing education and learning experience to the team. She leverages her background in risk management, healthcare training, and web development to craft learner-focused, meaningful, and engaging solutions.

In her free time, Liz enjoys learning new technologies, taking up new hobbies, gardening, and spending time with her husband and their bunny, Fam.

Meg Fairchild

Bio

Meg has over a decade of experience in learning design and development and has been working with xAPI data for more than half of that. Her experience, combined with her analytical systems mindset, helps her design learning journeys, craft solutions & derive insights for our clients.

Meg’s favorite place to be is in the water, whether swimming laps in a pool or fly fishing in Michigan’s AuSable River.

Steve Abrams

Bio

After thirty years in the entertainment industry Steve is bringing his production experience into creating engaging and meaningful learning programs. He started out working on feature films before he moved into producing reality television and then entertainment marketing for the likes of Fox, Disney, and Fox Sports. His strengths lie in building relationships, creating exciting visual media, and finding new and interesting ways to communicate information to a diverse group of learners.

Living in California means that when he’s not working, he’s either at the beach or in the mountains with his family.

Shay Souza

Team Experience
Bio

Shay is a recent graduate of Eastern Michigan University with a degree in Psychology, and a double minor in Sociology and Criminology. She brings the same enthusiasm, organization, and communication skills to her work as executive and personal assistant to Megan.

Outside of work, Shay enjoys playing video games, camping, watching true crime documentaries, and spending time with her partner and their cat, Salem. She is also a freelance artist and photographer around the Ann Arbor and Ypsilanti areas.
