Check out an article from our intern Natalie Hewitt about a recent project.

About a month ago, Megan came in to the office with a new project idea – one that would help out the local Rotary club she is involved in and at the same time help out the new intern TorranceLearning hired for the spring term. That Intern is me.

I was thrilled when Megan asked me if I would like to take part in this project which consisted of working with co-worker Matt Kliewer to create a video for the club, featuring local Rotarians speaking about projects supported by the organization that will be shown at its fundraising event, “Cash Bash,” on March 3, 2012. The main focus of the video is Rotary’s commitment to strengthening both is local community and the international community that we all belong to.

Rotary is an organization I admire for its dedication to helping others. It has been a pleasure working with local Rotarians that are so passionate about growing their community and providing support to international causes.

I have thoroughly enjoyed working on this project and believe that I have learned a lot being involved in its production and management. It has given me the chance to apply the project management style of TorranceLearning and collaborate with several of the employees here. It also has allowed me to gain experience using new types of software, learn the different components of shooting and editing video, and execute a creative vision. I feel that being assigned to this type of project and working with such a talented a team of individuals is more than I could have ever asked for as an intern. I am confident that the entire experience will help me down the road as I continue to develop as a professional.

The Chelsea Standard ran this article the project.
